Dianne Lynn Clawson

Dianne Lynn Clawson, 73, of Wellington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic. Born on July 15, 1953, in Akron, she was the beloved daughter of the late Quinten R. and Florence P. (nee Blower) Graham. Dianne grew up in Akron, graduated from Firestone High School in 1971, and went on to earn her degree in childhood education from Kent State University. 

For many years, Dianne shaped young minds as a devoted third-grade teacher at Westwood Elementary in Wellington. She was famous among her students for her creative spark, most notably through her cherished "COW Time"—Creating Outstanding Writing. 

A woman of vibrant creativity and resilience, Dianne was an active and talented member of the Lorain County Piecemakers Quilt Guild, stitching love, history, and intricate detail into every quilt she made. She also held a deep passion for history and genealogy. For the past 18 years, Dianne faced a courageous battle against Scleroderma, meeting every challenge with extraordinary grace, strength, and quiet determination. 

Above all, Dianne’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Roger Clawson; her daughter, Sarah Bronza; and the light of her life, her granddaughters, Avery and Quinley

 Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, August 26, from 4–7 p.m. at the Wellington First Congregational UCC, 140 South Main Street, Wellington. Funeral services will be held at the church on Thursday, August 27, beginning at 11 a.m., with Rev. Cheryl Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
