Don V. Ratliff

Don V. Ratliff, 88, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at the Norwalk Memorial Home, following a lengthy illness. He was born on August 16, 1937, in Cameron, Kentucky, to the late Joe and Ruby (Rutledge) Ratliff.

A father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Don served his country as part of the United States Army, and was a Police Officer, Detective, and Chief of Police for the City of Norwalk.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and loved rehashing stories with his buddies at The Star Diner. Don also enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their activities and pursuits.

Don is survived by his children, Don C. (Sandy) Ratliff, Shannon Ratliff; and daughter in-law, Kim Ratliff; he was also loved and is survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Don was also preceded in death by his sons, Brent and Shawn Ratliff, and grandson, Brandon Mantz. In keeping with Don’s wishes he will be cremated and buried privately with family in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
