Obituary

Donald E. Beatty, 84, of Wellington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Allen Mercy Hospital in Oberlin after a brief illness. Donald was born in Indiana, PA to the late Edgar Miller and Gladys Faye (nee Fisher) Beatty. He was a proud member of United States Army and was a veteran of WWII. Donald was an avid reader his whole life. He worked as the Ad Production Foreman for the Elyria Chronicle Telegraph and retired after more than 30 years. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Alberta (nee Harbaugh) Beatty; a son, Kevin Lee Beatty of TX, and a daughter, Melissa Dawn Beatty Thomas of Columbus; 2 grandsons, Benjamin Edward Beatty and Zachary Allen Beatty. Donald is also survived by two brothers, Carl Derwood (Beverly) Beatty of Arizona, and Robert Lee Beatty of Washington, a sister- in- law, Linda Beatty and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother William Itel Beatty. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on March 3, 2011 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home 370 South Main Street and from 10 a.m. until the 11a.m. service on Friday, March 4 at the First Baptist Church of Wellington, 125 Grand Ave, with Pastor Tom Alexander officiating. Burial will take place at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Avon.
