Donald E. Field, 82, of Ashland, Ohio, died at his residence on Monday, June 21, 2021.  He was born on June 29, 1938, in New Pittsburg, Ohio, the son of Eugene Field and Viola (nee Speck) Stone.

Donald graduated in 1958 from New London High School.  He married his beloved bride, Jean Brant and they have shared 61 wonderful years of marriage.  Donald worked as a welder for Ohio Body and American Bailer.  Donald and Jean were residents of New London, Ohio prior to retirement and relocating to the Ashland area.

Donald was a collector of salt dips.  He took pride in his flower beds, he loved spending time tending to them.   He valued time spent coon hunting and he liked watching sports and car racing on the television.

Donald is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Barry (Valerie) Fields of New London, Ohio; daughter, Carey (Jeff) Anderson of Ashland, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, Sarah Anderson of New London, Ohio and Jason (Emily) Anderson of Norwalk, Ohio; 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan Ruck and Wesley Denney and half-sister, Peggy (David) Stewart of Bluffton, SC.  In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Liane Field in 2019.

Friends and family will gather on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 12 – 1 p.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home 200 West Main Street, New London, Ohio.  A Memorial Service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev.
