Obituary

Donald D. Holzwart, 82, of Norwalk, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, Ohio.  He was born on February 21, 1938 to the late George F.  Holzwart and Martha Jane (Jacobs) Francis in Bucyrus, Ohio and was a Norwalk resident most of his life.  Don served proudly in the United States Army and attended the West Hartland United Methodist Church in Norwalk, Ohio. He worked 32 years for Columbus Show Case of Bellevue, Ohio and he enjoyed bowling with local bowling leagues in Bellevue, gardening, spending time outdoors, sharing stories with his grandchildren about growing up on the farm and sharing his experiences with the horses, as well as spending time with his family. Don was a quiet, loving, and easy-going man; those who knew him best will miss his kind heard and gentle spirit.

Don is survived by his son, William A. Estep of Olena, Ohio, by his daughter-in-law, Mary T. Estep of Norwalk, Ohio, by his 5 grandchildren, Alan, Andy, Heather, Chris, and Bryce, by his great-grandchildren, Kayden, Kohler, and Granger.  He is also survived by his siblings, Roger (Pat) Holzwart, Sharon Rogers, Janice Daniels, Ruth (Richard) Leonard, and Robert Francis, all of Bellevue, Ohio and Nancy (Rick Ritter of Cement City, Michigan, by several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Barkley.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen J. Holzwart in 2017, by his son, David L. Estep, by his grandson, Nicholas S. Estep, by his step-father, Robert W. Francis and his brother in-law, David Daniels.

Friends may call on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk, Ohio 44857. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Olena Cemetery, Peru-Olena Rd. Norwalk, Ohio.
