Donald W. Howard, 66, of Wakeman, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones, on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, following a three month battle with colon cancer.  Donald was born on August 14, 1954 in Hernando, Mississippi, the son of the late Freddie and Brunell (Johnson) Howard.

He worked 32 years for Ford in Lorain having retired in 2002.  Donald was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening and mowing his lawn.  Family was important to Donald, he cherished the time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.  He was a longtime member of Brighton Congregational Church.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathi Howard, whom he married on November 11, 1972; sons, Joseph and Justin (Adina Cosma) Howard, grandchildren, Lucy Jane and Crina Eva Howard; brothers, James and Jerry Howard and many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Barry and Freddie Howard Jr.; sisters, Alice Jean Womack and Rose Oswalt.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.  The family asks you to join them Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the Brighton Congregational Church 22086 St. Rt. 511, Wellington, OH 44090 from 5-6 p.m. for visitation; the Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by burial at the East Branch Cemetery on Butler Road, New London, OH.  Family and friends will gather back at the church for refreshments.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Brighton Congregational Church.  Eastman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements and online condolences may be shared with the family at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
