Obituary

Donald E. Maybaugh, age 89, of Wellington, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 following a brief illness. He was born January 6, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Donald E. and Lillian Maybaugh. He was a graduate of Wellington High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Donald was one of the last World War II POWs in Ohio. He was also a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. and was a York Cross of Honor Mason who had served as head of every York right body. Donald is survived by a son, Richard (Faith) Maybaugh of Wellington; 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Runee; daughter Donna; both parents and a brother, Henry Maybaugh. Visitation will be Sunday, March 24 from 5- 8 p.m. with a Masonic Service performed at 7:30 p.m.at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington with full Military Honors provided by the Wellington VFW, American Legion, and The United States Military. Donations in Donald's memory may be directed to the Lorain County Dog Kennel, 301 Hadaway St., Elyria, 44035.
