Obituary

Donald W. Robertson, age 75, of Nova, died Wednesday afternoon, July 6, 2016 at his daughter's home after a lengthy illness. He was born May 6, 1941 in New London, Ohio. He had lived all his life in the Nova area. Donnie was a 1959 graduate of Ruggles-Troy. He retired from ODOT where he was employed for 20+ years. Donnie was a skilled craftsman who built and remodeled numerous homes. He and his wife Sally were the founders of Bailey Lakes General Store, which they owned and operated for several years. Donnie also served with the Air National Guard and he was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather. Don will be deeply missed by his loving children, Renee (Fred) Lowery and Rod (Mindy) Robertson; granddaughters, Baylee Marie and Faith Ann Lowery all of Nova; sisters, Laura (Mike) Ailer of Nova and Mary Jane (Jeff) Rickett of Ashland; sister-in-law's, Angela Robertson, Shirley Ferber of Greenwich, Lois (Ken) Drushell of Nova, Lois Kinter of Nova and Mary Jo (Alva) Pay of Mt. Vernon and many special nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by Dawn and those who cared for him in his final months. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years Sally Marie Robertson; his parents, Helen (Shearer) and Kenneth Robertson; brother, Dick Robertson; brother-in-law's, John Kinter, Francis "Tuff" Kinter, Loren Kinter, Norman "Pete" Kinter and Edward Ferber; sister-in-law, Iva Kinter and mother and father-in-law, Francis "Sabe" and Marietta Kinter. Private services were held at the home. Memorials if desired may be given to Ohio Health Hospice, 335 Glessner Ave, Mansfield, Ohio 44903.
