IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald B.
Sears
September 26, 1956 – November 23, 2024
Donald B. "Don" Sears, age 68, of Sullivan died peacefully on November 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the Elms Retirement Village in Wellington. Born September 26, 1956, in Berea, he graduated from Black River High School in 1974. In the 1970's, Don's parents bought the Clare-Mar Campground and he worked with them until their retirement when he overtook the role of owner/operator until its eventual sale in 2019. He also worked for O'Reilly's in delivery over the years.
Don truly loved the outdoors and spending time at the campground. He was also an excellent musician who enjoyed playing the guitar and would help at the Wellington Music Store, a place he cherished. A rather eclectic man, he liked playing on the computer and building things as well as spending time at the Eagles of Wellington. Ultimately, his family and friends were the most important things in his life, and he loved spending time with the people he loved most.
A family man, Don is survived by his loving wife, Brenda, whom he spent a total of over 37 years with (25 of those married); daughters, Nicole (Brian) Clements of Tennessee, and Nicole Clark of New London; mother, Barbara (Sharkey) Sears; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Edward), Gabe, Kaylee, Nathan, Ian, and Bria; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Paetyn, and Jordan; brother, Rich (Mary Kay) Sears of Wellington; sister, Wendy Smalley of Avon Lake; and numerous other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Sears; and brother, James "Jimmy" Sears.
