Obituary

Donald E. Spicer Sr., 68, of New London, died Thursday May 20, 2010. Donald was born August 15, 1941 to the late Alvie and Genevive (nee Moulder) Spicer in LaGrange where he spent most of his life. Donald worked for PFI in Wellington. Donald belonged to gold prospecting groups and was a member of the NRA. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and camping. Donald loved his family; he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and with other family at family gatherings. Donald is survived by two sons, Edward and his wife, Stephanie Spicer of Sylvester, GA, and Donald Spicer Jr. of New London; six grandchildren, E.J., Paul, Jason, Jessica, Jackie, and Jessi, and 4 great grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by a brother Larry Spicer. Friends will be received Sunday, May 23 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 108 West Road, Wellington, with Rev. Michael Barrett and Pastor Mark Petric officiating. Burial will follow at River Road Cemetery, LaGrange. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Donald be sent to the Heart of Ohio Council Boy Scouts of America, 652A U.S. Route 250 East, P.O. Box 368, Ashland, OH 44805.
