Obituary

Donald Lee Stoneham, age 90, of Fitchville, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at The Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at Firelands, New London. He was born August 23, 1918 in Fitchville Township, son of the late Albert and Rose (Jarrett) Stoneham. He was a lifelong Fitchville resident. Donald was a World War II army veteran having served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was a 62 year charter member of the Fitchville American Legion Post 729 and a life member of the Firelands Post 2743 VFW, Norwalk. He is survived by his nephews, Leslie, Dennis and David Stoneham; great nieces and nephews, and great great nephews. He is also survived by 2 sisters in law, Blanche (Richard) Stoneham and Frances (Lester) Stoneham. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marion, Richard, Robert, twin brothers, Lester and Leon and Clyde Stoneham. Graveside services with military rites will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the Fitchville Cemetery with Pastor Jim Gaston of the North Fairfield United Methodist Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fitchville Memorial Post 729, 1488 State Route 162 East, North Fairfield, Ohio 44855.
