Donald G. Vickers, 77, of North Ridgeville and formerly of Wellington, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015. Donald was born in Shadyside on June 3, 1937 to the late Elmer E. and Wilma (nee Herron) Vickers. He was a 1956 Wellington High School graduate and president of his class. During the 24 years he spent in the United States Air Force, Donald lived all across the world. After leaving the military, he worked for Farmers Savings Bank in Spencer for 24 years. Donald was also a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Family was a priority in his life; his love, dedication and care for them was obvious to everyone around him. Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Libby (nee Lee) Vickers; children, Andrea (Peter) Wesp of San Antonio, TX and Allison (Craig) Sabin of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Catherine (James), Allison (Andrew), Nick and Natalie; four great granddaughters, Allie Joy, Faith, Evelyn and Andrea; and one brother, Jim Vickers. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marion, Richard and Robert Vickers and sisters, Louise Constine and Joanne Condie. Friends and family will be received on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 140 South Main Street, Wellington, with Pastor James Elliott and Father James Reymann officiating.
