Donald Eugene Wacker, 64, of New London, Ohio passed away after a short illness in the comfort of his home with family at his side. He was born on June 16, 1951 in Oberlin, Ohio and was the son of Paul (Red) and Betty Wacker. While always putting family first, Don enjoyed the many things life had to offer. In High School, Don received All-Conference Awards in Football and Wrestling. He was class President and voted as Prom King his senior year. He served in the Ohio National Guard for six years. Don grew up on a dairy farm and continued to farm throughout his life, until 1996, when he switched to crop farming and started employment at Wellington Implement. In 1972, Don met his wife, Linda, at The Lorain County Fair. Throughout the years, Don enjoyed coaching his three daughters, hanging out with friends, coon hunting, and pulling ponies. When Don entered a room, he was quick with a smile or a joke when he wasn't hitting the dance floor with his "moves". Don fought hard this past year and was grateful for the love and support from family, friends, and the community. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Wacker, and his sister, Dian Shearer. He will be missed by his entire family including his wife, Linda; daughters, Tina Krosse (Tim) of Wellington, Ohio, Darla Metz (Eric) of Medina, Ohio, and Tiffany Warner (Glenn) Wellington, Ohio; Five grandchildren, Nathan, Courtney, Taylor, Chase Donald, and Leah; his mother Betty Wacker of Wellington, Ohio, brother Clint Wacker (Katherine) of Wellington, Ohio, brother Glen Wacker (Lisa) of Nova, Ohio, brother-in-law Fred Shearer; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will be on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home at 11:00 am, with Pastor Jim Ellis officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-4:00 pm.
