IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna A.
Jennings
July 17, 1948 – October 24, 2025
Donna A. Jennings, born July 17, 1948, entered Heaven on October 24, 2025. Donna was born in Madison, West Virginia, to William and Evelyn (Hancock) Dangerfield. The eldest of seven children, Donna's caring nature and strong work ethic were evident from a young age and continued to guide her throughout her life.
A determined and independent woman, Donna built her life from the ground up. In the late 1970s, she was one of the first female supervisors at the Ford Motor Plant in Lorain, Ohio, a role that highlighted her leadership and perseverance. Donna's talents and passions led her through many successful careers, including over 30 years as a hairstylist and later three decades in the medical field. She took considerable pride in her work at Oberlin Internal Medicine, where she served alongside Dr. Chaung and Dr. Newman for 27 years before retiring.
Donna's dedication to her work was unmatched, but nothing brought her more pride or happiness than her family and her role as "Nana" to her two grandchildren. She was generous, loving, and steadfast in her support, always doing whatever she could to help those she loved. Donna also found joy in the simple pleasures of life – cooking and baking for her daughter and grandchildren, tending to her beloved garden, and caring for the animals she adored, especially her dogs. Her beautiful rose garden was a reflection of her nurturing spirit and the beauty she brought into the lives of others.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Lora Rollence (James); her grandchildren, Austin Smith (Amanda) and Taylor Smith; her great-grandchildren, Leon and Freya Smith; and her sisters, Connie Mize, Christine Hassell, Barbara Gates, Judy Thomas, and Kathy Eddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Evelyn Dangerfield, and her brother, John Dangerfield.
A private service will be held for the family, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Wellington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna's memory can be made to Affinity Hospice Care of Ohio (www.affinityohio.com) or The Normandy Care Center in Rocky River (www.thenormandy.com).
