Obituary

Doris Louise Brix, 84, formerly of Fairfield, Ohio, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, at The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Firelands in New London. Doris was born on November 24, 1925, in Moberly, Missouri, to the late Dudley 'Lass' and Hattie (Randolph) Bradley. She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism from The University of Missouri, in 1947. On June 5, 1948, Doris married Arnold Joseph Brix and moved to the Hamilton-Fairfield, Ohio, area in 1957. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfield, Ohio and was an educator in Hamilton, Ohio, for 25 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, Scrabble, painting, and traveling. Mrs. Brix is survived by her four children and their spouses, Jodie and Frank Spears of Abingdon, Maryland; John and Kate Brix of Windham, Maine; Mary Lou and Bob Harris of New London, Ohio; and Marty and Kim Brix of Albany, New York; ten grandchildren, Marty Spears and Katy Spears Battani of Maryland; Zach and Andy Brix and Cassie Brix Danylik of Maine; Bradley and Elizabeth Harris of Ohio and Dylan, Pierce and Alex Brix of New York; a great-granddaughter, Ella Battani; and a brother, Robert C. Bradley of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Arnold; her parents; sister, Mary Martha; brother, William and grandson, Aaron R. Harris. A mass of Christian burial will be held on November 26, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfield, Ohio.
