Doris I. Ferrell, 76, of Amherst, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. Born in Ashley on July 3, 1932 to the late Stanton and Berniece (nee Davis) Hough, Doris graduated from LaGrange High School. She lived in Toledo for most of her life and recently settled in with her sister, Linda Emmerich, in Amherst. Doris retired from Standard Oil in Toledo. She enjoyed being with her kids and Doris loved Scrabble and shopping. Survivors include her six children, Jeff (HwaCha) Ferrell of Severn, MD, Bonnie Leavens of West Chester, Deborah (Roger) Henneman of Toledo, Steve (Gail) Ferrell of Dothan, AL, Tim Ferrell of Shawnee, OK, Eric (Michele) Ferrell of Toledo; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Doris is also survived by her siblings; Natalia (Fred) Mele of Elyria, Fred Hough of Michigan, Linda (Maynard) Emmerich of Amherst, Gary (Linda) Hough of Wooster and her step brother Bob (Evelyn) Caldwell of Norwalk. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Hough. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington with a funeral service on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chris Bell officiating.
