Doris M. Mutchler, age 74, of Ashland, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, after a sudden stroke. Doris was born March 7, 1934 in Ruggles Twp., daughter of the late, William & Jesse Mae (Doty) Ashton. She was a lifelong resident of northern Ashland County. She graduated in 1952 from Nova High School and was a beautician in Ashland. Doris enjoyed line dancing and taught it through the council on aging at the council building in Ashland. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Carol (Gerald) Houchin of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Martha (Michael) Pagano of West Salem, Ohio and Janet (Britt) Miller of Ashland; a son, Thomas (Rachel) Mutchler of Ashland; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a twin sister, Dorothy Cyrus of Wooster. She was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and George Ashton a sister Ruth Rogers. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2008 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, where friends may call from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Ruggles Cemetery.
