Doris Louella Taylor, 90, of Marion, AL died Saturday, March 24, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 19, 1922 in Penfield to the late Blair and Mabel Pierce. A 1940 graduate of Penfield High School, Doris also lived in Spencer, Lodi and State College, PA. She worked at Penn State University and ORL. Doris was a member of the Methodist Churches in both Lodi, OH and Marion, AL. She was also a member of the Lodi Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Dave (Thelma) Taylor, of Prosper, TX, Darryl (Liz) Taylor, of The Villages, FL, Duane (Ronnie) Taylor, of Vienna, VA and Sandy (Gary) Workman, of Marion, AL; 10 grandchildren, Steve Workman, Ben Workman, Leigh Anne Holman, Matt Taylor, Brian Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Alexandra Taylor, Christine Taylor, Gayle Meeks and Andy Williams and 8 great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Taylor; son, Darryl Taylor and her brother, Lyle Pierce. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 31 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service with Rev. Jerry Gates officiating. Burial will follow at Penfield Cemetery.
