Doris M. Wood, age 78, of New London, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Firelands, New London, after a lengthy illness. She was born February 24, 1929 in Swanton, Ohio, daughter of the late Harry & Inez (Morrow) Ulch. Doris lived in Findlay, Ohio for several years. She managed a family business there. She then moved to San Diego, Ca. in 1978. After she retired she moved to New London in 1991. She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Fred) Paynter of New London; 3 sons, Robert L. Stacy of San Diego, Ca., Ron A. Wood of Amarillo, Texas and Richard L. (Maree) Stacy of Rohnert Park, Ca.; 2 grandsons, Stacy Paynter and Travis Wood; 5 granddaughters, Laura Stacy, Rhonda Wood, Merideth Wood, Leigh Ann Stacy, Lorrie Stacy; 3 great grandchildren, Ashley, Mariah and Logan. She was preceded in death by husband, Russell Emenegger in 1963, husband, Elbert (Woody) Wood in 1970, her granddaughter, Justine Stacy, 2 sisters, Irene Creager and Bonnie Atkin; 2 brothers, Roland (Jack) Ulch and Allen Ulch. Funeral services will be held 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London where friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
