Dorothy L. Daron, 92, of Ashland, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Brethren Care Nursing Home in Ashland. She was born on November 27, 1921, in Wyandot County, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert and Beulah Robey. She graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1939 and moved to Nova in 1942. Dorothy married Delmar C. Rife on April 11, 1940. She farmed with her husband. Dorothy also drove bus for Ruggles Troy Schools, worked at the Nova Elevator and Forrest City in Wellington, and retired from Abbott Lab in Ashland. She married her second husband Wayne Daron in 1999. Dorothy was a member of the Nova Community United Methodist Church, ft. Findley Chapter of the D.A.R., Research Club in Nova, WINKS and the Nova Garden Club. She was a volunteer at Red Cross and Samaritan Regional Health System. She will be dearly missed by her son, Jerry (Diane) Rife of Ashland; daughter, Debra (Dennis) Berry of Greenville, PA; step children, Judy (Jim) Bernhard of Ashland and Danny (Celeste) Daron of Nederland, Colorado; granddaughters, Pamela (Doug) Kinsey, Teresa (Chris Gregg) Browne and Melinda (Dominick) Villani; 5 step grandchildren; great grandchildren, Cassie (Jonus Burns) Hicks, Gabe (Courtney Figley) Miller, Zack Miller, Carly Miller, Evan, Jacob and Kylie Villani; 10 step great grandchildren and 1 step great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Delmar Rife and Wayne Daron, brothers, Robert and Paul Robey and sister, Betty Harrigan. The family will greet friends from 1p.m. until the 2 p.m. service on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London. Burial will follow in Nova Cemetery.
