Dorothy F. Pogorelc, of Wellington, died on Sunday, December 8, 2024 under the care of Ames Hospice at the age of 90. Dottie was born in Mount Vernon, KY on February 2, 1934 to the late Eugene and Liddie (nee Mullins) Reppert. She also lived in Colorado, Arkansas, and Alabama before settling in Wellington.

Dottie worked overseeing blueprints for missile sites at General Industries in Elyria. She also worked at Nordson, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin, where she was a part of the Saturn V project. Most recently, Dottie managed the Southern Satellite Office of the Lorain County Office On Aging. She was also proud of growing certified organic produce on her farm.

She attended the United Church of Huntington and volunteered at THRIVE. Dottie enjoyed helping the elderly in her community – she often drove people to doctor appointments and was instrumental in the Senior Fair.  There to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, Dottie could always be counted on. She held memberships with the Bee Keepers Association and the Garden Club.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Michael (Jenna) Greer, of Dublin; stepchildren, Bob (Jan) Pogorelc, of Amherst, Tom (Phyllis) Pogorelc, of Lorain, Michael (Cheryl) Pogorelc, of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Karen (Dan) Antus, of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Pogorelc, Sr. and 12 siblings.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 11 from 1 p.m. until the Funeral service at 3 p.m. at the United Church of Huntington, 26677 State Route 58, with Pastor Brian Egleston officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date.
