IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Jean
(Mccave) Kullman
August 25, 1926 – March 17, 2022
Dorothy Jean (McCave) Kullman passed away on March 17, 2022 at the Norwalk Memorial Home.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dot and her husband Jack R. Kullman, moved to Norwalk in 1959 with their three children Jack, Jr., Scott, and Janet when Jack, an engineering manager with Clevite Harris, (now Tenneco), was transferred to the plant in Milan, Ohio.
Dot was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Cleveland and thereafter earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature, Summa Cum Laude, from The Ohio State University where her father, Mark L. McCave, in 1916, earned his Law Degree. Dot was very proud of her Phi Beta Kappa membership at Ohio State and, this year, she was recognized for seventy-five (75) years of membership in Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Dot was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught an adult Sunday School class, sang in the church choir for forty-three (43) years and was a member of the Love Circle of the United Methodist Women.
She was a volunteer with the Red Cross and served as a Board Member for the Norwalk Public Library for twenty-five (25) years. She was a member of the Shakespeare Club and was the Club's Secretary for fifty (50) years where she exhibited her wonderful and witty writing style. She also spent many enjoyable years as a member of the Roundabout Reading Club. In her spare time, Dot enjoyed collecting antiques, making many Saturday drives with Jack and close friends Paul and Barbara Carpenter to Garth's Auction Barn in Delaware, Ohio. When all was said and done, however, Dot most enjoyed spending time and keeping up with all of the activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on April 10, 1948, her parents, Mark L. and Sarah (Williams) McCave, her sister Mary June Kasten, brother-in-law Bernard Louis Kasten, and her first grandson, Brad Allen Kullman. Survivors include two sons and their spouses, Jack, Jr. and Deborah (Leslie) of Columbus, Scott and Shar (Nauman) of Mansfield, daughter Janet and spouse Andrew Adams of LaGrange, nine (9) grandchildren, and twenty-one (21) great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio on March 24, 2022. A burial service at Woodlawn Cemetery will be held immediately following the family service.
A Memorial Service will be subsequently conducted at the Norwalk First United Methodist Church with the date and time to be published when determined.
