Dorothy H. Ross, age 86, of New London died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Firelands in New London. Dorothy was born June 21, 1921 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of the late, Stanley Joseph & Goldie Mae (Rossitra) Smith. She lived most of her life in Syracuse, New York, a short time in Texas, before moving to New London. She retired from Auto Lite in Syracuse. She enjoyed garage sales and buying and selling antiques. She is survived by her companion, Berton Carpenter; a sister, Patricia Scheid of New London; 2 brothers, Robert W. Smith of Newark, NY and Harold J. Smith of North Syracuse, NY; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond G. Ross and a brother, George N. Smith. There will be no services. Eastman Funeral Home, New London is in charge of arrangements.
