Today the world lost an amazing man. Duncan Wooster was born April 17, 1949 on Easter Sunday in Flint Michigan, the son of the late Marcus and Christina Wooster. In 1967, he graduated from Bentley High School in Burton, Michigan, where he lettered in wrestling and football. Duncan joined the Army in January 1968 where he volunteered for two tours in Vietnam. His first tour was July 1968-69 with the 265th RRC, 101st ABRN. His second tour was November 1970-71 with the 371st RRC, 1st CAV Air Mobile working on Project Leftbank. Duncan was honorably discharged on October 9, 1971 and was always very proud of his service to our country. Duncan started his IBEW apprenticeship in July 1972 where he worked or Universal Systems and later J Ranck Electric, both in Flint, MI. He retired after 34 years as an IBEW electrician in 2006. In his retirement, Duncan obtained his USCG license and took people fishing for walleye as a charter captain on the Great Lakes and rivers of Michigan and Ohio. He loved taking his "friends" fishing and continued as a charter captain until his illness in 2018. Duncan was an avid outdoorsman, spending many hours in the woods and on the water his entire life, sharing those special times with his sons and friends.

Duncan was very active in his Burton, MI community while his sons were young. He served as a Cub Scout Leader, Coached Cub Scout softball, later he coached his sons and many other sons as a youth football coach. He served on the Atherton School Board for many years. They lived in Burton, MI his entire life until moving to Collins, OH in 2015.

Duncan met his bride in the spring of 1972 at a party in Ohio. He married Linda Jo Weisenberger in September of 1972 and loved her until his last breath. Together they raised two sons which he loved dearly, mentoring them throughout their lives. While they were in school, Duncan never missed a game when they played their various sports. His pride in his family was evident to anyone that would listen. Today his oldest son, Duncan "Mac" is an airline pilot living in San Francisco, California. His youngest son, Scott, is a college football coach living in Detroit, Michigan.

Duncan is survived by six grandchildren and one great granddaughter on the way. Duncan is also survived by two sisters, his younger brother, and an angel sister.

Duncan will be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend. He was the kind of man that was honest, caring and responsible. He drank his coffee black, he only drank Canadian whiskey, and if he shook your hand, the deal was made, no written contract needed. Duncan was the kind of man that when confronted with a problem, he always found a way to fix it. He did what he said he would do, and did it right with no exceptions. He passed these important lessons down to his sons and was respected by everyone he knew. While today is a sad day, for those that know him, his legacy will always live on.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 5, 2019, 2 - 5 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Funeral Mass will be held at St Paul Catholic Church on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10:30 am with Fr. Andrew Wellmann officiating.
