Dwane Reitz, 67, of Wellington, passed peacefully, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer, at Akron General Cleveland Clinic.

Dwane enjoyed anything outdoors; gardening, raising livestock, tractor pulls, truck pulls, fishing, hunting and indulged in his daughter's horse hobby. Dwane was a devoted member of the Kipton Community Church. He was known as "Mr. Smiley" - no matter what health issues he was battling, he would still joke around with a smile on his face. Dwane loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He was business owner of Hilltop Builders and Hilltop Drywall.

Dwane is survived by his wife, Judy Reitz; children, Samantha (Jonathan) Short and Charles (Traci) Reitz; grandchildren, Tilly and Gunner Short and Troy and Cloe Reitz; siblings, Gary (Chris) Reitz and Sandra Peabody; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Reitz and Doris Sheldon; mother-in-law, Patsy Hulbert; sister-in-law, Judith Reitz; brother-in-law, Garry Peabody; and aunt, Dora Reed.
