Earnest R. 'Rudy' Oney, age 70, of Shiloh, died Wednesday morning at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born April 16, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Stonewall and Bertha (Blair) Oney. Rudy had lived most of his life in the Shiloh area. He was a self-employed mechanic, welder and auto body man. He had worked for Troxel Farms for over 20 years. Rudy enjoyed woodworking and he loved fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeanette (Sloan) Oney; his children, Ray (Denise) Oney of Shiloh, Kevin (Tresha) Oney and Scott (Mickey) Oney all of Rome, Teresa (Rick) Rayborn of Galion, Cathy Jo (Kevin) Lambert and Rudy 'Whopper' Oney all of Shiloh; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Wootsie Whitaker and Sherry (Larry) Hicks all of Greenwich. He was preceded in death by 3 infant daughters, Robin Kay, Betty Jo and Betty Jo Oney, siblings, Marcella King, Mary Ellen Craft, Charles Lorn Oney, David Oney, Debbie Tuttle.
Friends may call from 2 ' 4 p.m. and 6 ' 8 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastors James Martin and Delmer Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh.
