Obituary

Edith May Cottrell, (nee Campbell) 85, long time resident of Wellington died Saturday, November 22, at the Chesterwood Retirement Community in West Chester, Ohio, where she had been living for the past three years. She was born September 6, 1923 in New London, Ohio, but moved to Wellington while still young and graduated from Wellington High School. She had been employed by Wellington Foundry, Snyder's Dime Store, and most recently by Broom's Drug Store. For many years she served as the Assistant Secretary for the Lorain County Fair Board. Edith was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellington. She was also a charter member of the Junior Women's League and was a member of several church circles. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, cross stitch, arts & crafts, gardening and reading. Survivors include sons Randall Cottrell of West Chester, Ohio, and Ronald Cottrell of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her sister Wilma Motter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Cottrell and her parents, Truman and Mary Campbell. Friends may call from 7 - 9 p.m. Sunday November 23, 2008 at the Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St. Wellington where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 127 Park Place, Wellington, OH 44090 or Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242.
