Edward Allen Drake, Jr., 33, devoted husband, father and son, went home to the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, December 13, 2009. He was born on March 17, 1976 and lived in the Wellington area his whole life. He enjoyed football, fishing, softball and especially OSU football. His greatest joy in life was being a father and husband. He loved teaching his son, Dallas, his love of the outdoors. Edward graduated in 1994 from Black River High School and attended MCCC for culinary arts. He worked at Lorain County Corrections in the maintenance department for almost 10 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Alexandra Drake (nee Paris) of five years; his four year old son, Dallas Alexander Drake; mother, Deborah Linden of Wellington; father, Edward Allen Drake, Sr. of Ashland; brothers, James Drake of Ashland, Jeremiah Linden of Medina and Donald Linden of Sullivan; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alex and Faye Paris of Toronto, Canada and many loving family members and friends. Edward was preceded in death by his Drake and Lawson grandparents. Visitation will be held Friday, December 18 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
