Obituary

Edward Francis Ives, 84, of Wellington, died June 3, 2011 at his residence. Born on March 4, 1927 to the late Wilbur Francis and Mary Helen Ives, Edward grew up in Oberlin. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and moved to Wellington after his military service. Edward owned Ives Furnace and Sheet Metal. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. Edward also loved watching sporting events. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Evelyn (nee Biddinger); sons, Bruce Edward Ives, of Elyria and David Herbert Ives, of Sullivan; 6 grandchildren, Tina Garton, Angela Ives, Christopher Ives, Brian Ives, David Hartman, and Isaiah Ives; 3 great grandchildren, Joseph Garton, David Garton and Morgan Ives; and sisters, Jo Ann Ward, of Oberlin, and Betty Ann Wilbur, of Pittsfield. Edward was preceded in death by his siblings, Evelyn, Mary Jane, Lester, Richard, Robert and Wilbur. Visitation will be Monday, June 6, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
