Edward L. "Eddie" Copsey

September 14, 1929 – December 21, 2021

Edward L. "Eddie" Copsey, 92, of New London, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Eddie was born on September 14, 1929, in Olena, OH to the late Earl and Katie (Miller) Evans.

Eddie had an unmatched work ethic. He owned and operated Copsey Excavating until he was 83 years old and only stopped due to failing eyesight. He was the type of boss who would do the "grunt work" side by side with his employees. In his spare time, Eddie enjoyed pony pulling and coon hunting. He was a skilled dog trainer and enjoyed hunting with his black and tan coon hounds. Eddie was an honorary member of the Greenwich Coon Hunter's Club. His greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Rosanna (McKnight) Copsey, whom he married on October 18, 2007, and has been with since 1990; children, Debbie (Terry) Conley of Greenwich and Janet (Mike Phillips) Chandler of Bellevue; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Walter Evans, Junior Evans, and Curley Evans; sister-in-law, Dorothy Copsey; best friends, Jimmy (Judy) Reece and family; and all of his "family" and friends in Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his first wife, Kate (Hubley) Copsey; son, Dennis Copsey and brother, Freddie Copsey.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Greenwich Coon Hunters Club, 3221 Plymouth East Road, Greenwich, OH 44837.  Eastman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
