Norwalk, Ohio - Edward G. Sanford, 91, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Thursday evening, January 28, 2016 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, Ohio, from Congestive Heart Failure and C.O.P.D. He was born September 17, 1924 in Norwalk, Ohio, and was a lifelong area resident. Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in W.W.II. He retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad in 1990. Ed enjoyed wintering in Palmetto, Florida, with his late wife, Joyce, for many years. He also enjoyed doing auto body work with Bob Harp, fishing, watching his grandchildren's baseball games, school activities, and sharing ice cream. Ed is survived by his children, Patricia M. (Rick) Riley of Norwalk, Ohio, and Thomas E. Sanford of Norwalk, Ohio, 4 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Y. (Snook) Sanford in 2013, by his brother, Elmer, and by his sister, Marcella.
