Eldred Franklin Turner, 88, of Wellington, entered into Heaven on Monday, July 19, 2010. The son of Franklin and Alma Turner, Eldred was born on March 11, 1922 in Thackerville, OK and moved to Ohio as a child.
Eldred graduated from Hudson High School and went on to earn his Bachelors Degree. During WWII, Eldred served in the Pacific as a proud member of the Marine Corps. He worked as a Research Chemist at NASA for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; children, Paulann (Russ) Eaton of Wellington and Edward (Gail) Turner of North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Cheryl (Jymmie) Wetherbee, Chris (Tom) Herb, Jon (Missy) Ward, Eowyn Turner and Elizabeth Turner; 4 great grandchildren and a great great grandson.
Friends and family will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 22 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where visitation will also be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Gene Collings officiating. Burial will follow at the Pittsfield East Cemetery with military rites. Donations in memory of Eldred can be sent to Jesus Christ Community Church, 1420 S. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
