Eleanor J. Murphy, age 78, of Lorain, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain after a sudden illness. She was born June 16, 1930 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Chester and Henrietta (Keener) Grove. She had spent most of her life in the LaGrange, Ohio area. Mrs. Murphy had worked for over 25 years at Keystone High School. She was a member of the LaGrange United Methodist Church. Mrs. Murphy enjoyed cooking, traveling, fishing and her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Beth) Murphy of Wellington; her daughter, Pamela J. (Paul) Workman of Zanesville, Ohio; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 2 sisters, Janet Hartman of Elyria and Patricia McClelland of Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Murphy, 2 sisters, Joanne Grove and Connie Romantic. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the LaGrange United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ralph Krall officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the LaGrange United Methodist Church, 105 West Main St., P. O. Box 71, LaGrange, Ohio, 44050. Norton - Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington were in charge of arrangements.
