Eleanor L. Murr, 84, of New London died Sunday, May 06, 2012 at Fisher Titus Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 13, 1927 in Wellington to the late Norman and Clara (nee Ginther) Linder. Eleanor grew up in Wellington and was a 1945 graduate of Wellington High School and moved to New London in 1946. Eleanor helped her husband operate Murr's Grocery Store in New London for 4 years. She later worked for Kellys Flower Shop. Eleanor was a member of the New London United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time tending to her flower garden. Eleanor is survived by her sons, Doug and Dawn Murr of Shelby, Ed and JoAnn Murr of Spencer, Richard 'Dick' Murr, and Ronnie Murr both of New London; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jay in 2003 and her sister Carol King. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, May 8, from 12 p.m. until the time of a 2 p.m. service at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
