Elizabeth "Betty" Swanger, passed away early Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was 100 ½ years young! She was born June 1, 1915, in New London, raised in Elyria and graduated from Elyria High School in 1933. In 1936 Betty moved back to New London until her late 80's when she moved to the Mansfield area. Betty was a member of the New London United Methodist Church, life member of New London American Legion Auxiliary, New London Golden Agers and AARP Chapter 3713 in Ashland. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Glenn Sprague of Galion; grandchildren, Jason (Rhonda) Sprague of Groveport and Jennifer (Rob) Crase of Canal Winchester and great grandchildren, Hannah Crase, Silas Crase, Claire Sprague and Jack Sprague. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse in 1983 and her parents, Fred and Mamie Peterson. A private graveside service was held at Grove Street Cemetery in New London.
