.Norwalk, Ohio - Ella Mae Sayre, 79, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday evening, June 13, 2016 in Norwalk Memorial Home. She was born December 21, 1936 in Willard, Ohio, to the late Cart and Nola (Reed) Barnett, and was a lifelong area resident. Ella was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. After the death of her mother at a young age, Ella helped raise her siblings. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and had a special bond with animals. Ella is survived by her husband of 62 years, Fred Sayre of Norwalk, Ohio, by her son and daughter in law, Dennis and Deb Sayre of Norwalk, Ohio, by her grandchildren, Chris Sayre, Jim Sayre, Amy Sayre, and Matt Sayre, and by 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Anna Cox of Norwalk, Ohio, Phillis Hales of Norwalk, Ohio, and Barb Carleton, of Norwalk, Ohio. Ella was preceded in death by her son, James Sayre in 1987, by her grandson, Chad Sayre, and by her brothers, Riley, Roger, Russell, and Richard Barnett. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be private in Hester Cemetery.
