Ella Mae Waldorf, age 94, of Norwalk, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk. She was born August 22, 1917 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles Walls and Ella Mae (Burt) Smith. She was a 1936 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. Ella Mae moved to Florida in 1945 and remained there until 2001 when she moved to Norwalk. She had been a secretary/office manager for Bryan Memorial United Methodist Church in Miami, Florida, an executive secretary to executive director at Epworth Village in Highleah, Florida until she retired in 1988. Ella Mae had been a member of the Florida Lake Country Yacht Club, a member of the General Federation Women's Club, the Lake Placid Woman's Club, Inc. of Lake Placid, Florida and St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norwalk.
She is survived by her son, Alan Craig Huff of Lake Placid, Florida, her stepchildren, Christine (Michael) Hubay of Chillicothe, Ohio, David C. Waldorf of Missouri, John L. Waldorf of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Zane and Zach. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Ernest Huff , her second husband, John LeRoy Waldorf, her son, Kenneth Reid Huff, her sister, Inez L. Denny.
Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London with Rev. Ben Black officiating.
