Ellen Gravely, 75, of North Fairfield died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. Ellen was born in Oneida, TN on January 16, 1934 to the late Arnold and Ruby Byrd. She lived in the Fitchville area for over thirty years. Ellen liked flowers and loved animals, especially hummingbirds, dogs, cats, chickens, and pot bellied pigs. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert; 8 children, Sheila Hensley of New London, Jack Mcghee of Ashland, Sherrill Cutlip of South Carolina, Bobby Mcghee of Fitchville, Penny Porter of Vermillion, Hope Needles of Delaware, Robby Gravely of Steubenville and Sandra Newsome of Willard; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Ellen was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Mcghee. Friends will be received on Friday, September 11th from 4 p.m. ' 8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Graveside services will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Fitchville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the family in care of Eastman Funeral Home.
