Obituary

Ellen Louise Mourton, age 57, of Rochester Twp., died Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Elms Retirement Village in Wellington following a lengthy illness. Ellen was born July 9, 1950 in South Euclid to the late George and Viola (nee Halter) Lembke. She was a 1968 graduate of Lutheran West High School and she attended Kent State University. Ellen worked for 10 years at Erie Sand and Gravel in Lorain. She was an active member of the Rochester United Methodist Church, where she was involved with the United Methodist Women, the Altar Guild, and decorated the church with seasonal flowers. She was also a member of the Rochester Historical Club. Ellen was an animal lover and she enjoyed making crafts; her specialty was cornhusk dolls. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, William 'Bill'; 2 sons, Joseph (Janette) of San Diego, CA and Adam of Wellington; and a brother, David (Andrea) Lembke of Bay Village. Friends may call from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, February 28 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday with Rev. Christine Bell officiating. Burial will follow at the Rochester Cemetery. Memorials may be given to New Life Hospice, 3700 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 440053 or to the Rochester United Methodist Church, 201 S. State St., Rochester, OH 44090.
