Ellen C. "Lolly" Bowling, 51, died unexpectedly March 31, 2013. Born April 27, 1961, in Amherst and resided in New London for 20 years. Graduate of Western Reserve High School, EHOVE cosmetology program and Sandusky School of Nursing.
Ellen enjoyed watching old black and white movies. She loved being a mother and took great joy in spending time with her family, especially cooking for gatherings.
Survived by her children, Laila Bowling, Joshua Bowling and Joleena Jackson all of New London; stepchildren, Donna Harris of Lucas, David Bowling of Homewood; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her mother, Ellen Cleavenger of New London; her former husband, David Bowling of New London; sisters, Margaret (Martin) Wiley of New London, Melanie (Charles) Roberts of New London and Theresa (Jim Fritz) Patchin of Norwalk; brothers, Carl R. Ours, Jr. of Savannah, Jeffrey Ours of New London and Larry Ours of New London; stepsisters, Pam Pirl of Clarington and Cathy Rydosz of Powhatan Point and stepbrothers, Franklin Cleavenger of Norwalk and William Cleavenger of New London. Preceded in death by her father, Carl R. Ours, Sr.; stepfather, William V. Cleavenger and sisters, Carla Sue Ours, Karen Heitsche and Cecelia Cleavenger.
Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Ben Black officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London. Memorials if desired may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
