Elmer G. Draves, age 87, of New London, died Friday, February 22, 2008 at Stein Hospice Care Center. Mr. Draves was born November 7, 1920 in Cleveland, son of the late, John & Katherine (Perko) Draves. He moved to New London at a young age, where he lived until moving to Middleburg Heights around 1950. Elmer moved back to New London in 2003. He was a 1939 graduate of New London High School. Elmer worked as a machinist for the former Smith & Harris Manufacturing of Cleveland. He was a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New London. He is survived by a son, Michael Draves and his fianc'e, Donna Dennis of New London. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Draves in 2003; a son, Christopher Draves; a brother, John 'Jack' Draves; and 2 sisters, Irene Lindenau and Edna Gisclon. Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London; with a Rosary service at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Avenue, New London.
