Elmer R. Hall, 86, of Greenwich, Ohio, died at his residence on September 11, 2026, surrounded by his family. Elmer was born on December 24, 1939, in Blue Moon, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Azzie and Myrtle (nee’ Hunter) Hall.
Elmer began working at the Golden Age Nursing Home as a custodian from 1956 to 1963. He then found his way to Ohio Body in New London where he worked as a laborer. In 1984 he accepted a position as a custodian for South Central Schools until his retirement in 2005.
An avid outdoorsman Elmer enjoyed fishing and hunting for turkey, deer and coon. He raised Beagle dogs and loved old country music. He was a Cleveland Guardians and Browns fan. He was a little league coach in Greenwich and was famous for the Orioles team. Elmer was a member of the Norwalk Eagles for over 30 years. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Joyce (nee’ Gilbert), whom he married on July 11, 1958; children, Tony (Tammy) Hall, of Caledonia, OH, Tonda (Rick) Woodworth, of Norwalk, OH, Tom (Dawn) Hall, of Greenwich, OH and daughter in law, Deb Hall, of New London, OH; 10 grandchildren, Tyler, Tayler, Ryan, Chris, Tori, Autumn, Kory, Dusty, McKenzie and Kyle; 17 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Halee, Hanna, Titus, Ava, Alexis, Memphis, Liam, Jace, Abi, Brynlee, Hayden, Tennessee, Jackson, Abby, Ayla, Amelia and 3 step great-grandchildren, Kimber, Tristin and Mia; siblings, Bill Galligher and Shirley Bibbee; along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Elmer was preceded in death by his father, Azzie, mother, Myrtle and stepfather, Harlow Galligher, his son, Tim Hall, grandchildren, Jennifer Hall and Matthew Hall and brothers, Edgel, Steve, Gary, and Gene Hall.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 3-5 p.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main Street, Greenwich, OH; where his Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 14, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Greenwich Little League, Greenwich Baptist Youth Group, South Central Athletic Boosters or Lifewise Ministries in care of Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W.
