Elsie Pearl Roberts, 91, of Wellington, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Elms Retirement Village. Born on March 18, 1927 in Orton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Etta Alice (nee Sumpter) Duelley. Elsie grew up in Morehead, moved to the Wellington area in the early 40's and she spent most of her life there. Elsie worked at Montgomery Ward and General Industries. An avid traveler, and known as "Lady Tarzan" on the CB, she enjoyed spending her winters in Florida and camping with the Holiday Ramblers Camping Club. While in Florida she would do hair to make a little extra money. Elsie loved to have garage sales during the summer where she enjoyed seeing and talking with people. She was a talented crafter, making sock monkeys and other crafts, and enjoyed canning and gardening. She found joy in sitting by a fireside either in her home or outside roasting marshmallows. Most of all she cherished time with her family. Survivors include her son Ivan Roberts Sr.; grandchildren Ivan (Tina) Roberts Jr., Irene (Ted) Harris, Lisa Roberts, Kathi (Joe) Ladina, John (Jacky) Stocking, Kris (Kenny) Senz; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandkids and sister, Nova Hardman. Elsie was preceded in death by her daughters Irene P. Roberts and Cornetta Sue Stocking; daughter-in-law, Lois S. Roberts; great-grandson, Nicholas I. Roberts and sisters, Lenora Hill, Mary Chisler, Monoka Zwiezinski, Odra Thudium. A private graveside service will be held on Monday at Greenwood Cemetery.
