Elsie V. Scakacs, 85, of Wellington, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at The Elms Retirement Village. Elsie was born in Brighton Township to the late Susan and Joseph Sweda, grew up in the North Ridgeville area and recently lived at Saint Patrick's Manor in Wellington. During the war, she worked at General Industries and later went on to work for Duffin Manufacturing. Elsie also worked for Sweda and Sweda Associates and ABC Management. she was an avid gardener. Elsie is survived by her son, David Scakacs and his wife, Elizabeth of Brighton Township; a granddaughter, Diana Wyatt of LaGrange; and four great grandchildren, David, Julia, Caroline and Jacob Wyatt. Elsie was preceded in death by her Husband of 41 years, James Scakacs; a sister, Helen and a brother, George. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 5 at Resthaven Memorial Garden in Avon starting at 10:30 a.m.
