Elzie A. Ratliff, age 72, of Greenwich, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Ashland where he received loving care. He was born July 9, 1937 in Greenwich Twp., son of the late Eddie and Gracie Ratliff. Elzie was a lifelong Greenwich resident. He served in the U.S. Army active duty from 1960 ' 1962 then in the Army Reserve until 1964. He had worked at the former A.C. & Y now the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad from 1970 ' 1979. He attended the Wayside Mission Church in Mansfield. God Bless you Elzie, you will be truly missed. He is survived by 1 sister, Marjorie Picklesimer of Sugar Hill, Georgia; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Charlene Ratliff, Barbara Keysor, Corraine Johnson, Judy Johnson, Luther Frank Ratliff and Clyde W. Ratliff. Friends may call from 6 ' 8 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich where funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Ron Gibson officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
