Emil W. Becker, 79, of Wellington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Keystone Pointe in Lagrange, Ohio. He was born on April 15, 1936, at home in Brownhelm Township to the late Carl and Blanche (nee Betts) Becker. Emil was part of the last graduating class of Henrietta High School in 1954. With the exception of a brief time in Florida, Emil spent most of his life in the Henrietta, Pittsfield and Wellington areas. Emil served his country as part of the United States Navy Reserve. He was a carpenter who spent many years with the TJ Hume Company in Lorain. Emil enjoyed traveling, camping, picnics and playing cards. He loved garage sales, and for better or worse, faithfully followed Cleveland's professional sports teams. Emil also cherished his granddaughter "Rebecca". He is survived by his step children Gary (Diane) Brill of Amherst, Nancy Marshall of Elyria; step daughter-in-law Brenda Brill of Oberlin; siblings Myron "Mike" (Marilyn) Becker of Clearwater, FL, Dorothy Martin of Vermillion, and Leonard Becker of Wakeman; granddaughter "Rebecca" Becky Brill and numerous nieces and nephews. Emil was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn in 2010, sister Alberta Black and step son David Brill. A memorial gathering is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
