Erin Marie McCarthy, 66, of Sullivan, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Elms Retirement Village in Wellington after a several year battle with cancer. Born on July 3, 1957 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Donna (nee White) McCarthy Sr. Erin was a 1975 graduate of Normandy Sr. High in Parma.

Erin grew up in the Cleveland area and for a 12-year period moved to Arizona where she worked in the Scottsdale Schools. She worked as a legal secretary for 29 years and as an IT support specialist. While in Arizona she enjoyed working with children in after school programs teaching computer tech. Erin was a talented musician and played the drums and she loved spending time outdoors and in the woods. A true animal lover, Erin raised and cared for all kinds of animals including chickens and raccoons. She will be remembered as a loving mother and aunt and for all the special memories she made for her family.

Survivors include her loving partner of 28 years, William Schroll; sons, Jeremy (Sue) Piteo, and Jesse (Laura) Piteo, both of Parma; brothers, Steve (Theresa) McCarthy Jr, and Mike (Sharon) McCarthy; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, February 27, from 4 p.m. until the time of a memorial service beginning at 6 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
