Erna "Nelly" Evans, 89, of Nova, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014. Born in Leipzig, Germany to Willy and Anna Schmidt, Nelly lived in Germany until she moved to the United States in 1955. She worked at Ballonoff and Eagle Rubber in New London and the Reed House Restaurant in Nova. A member of the Nova Garden Club, Nelly enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was also a member of the Nova Community United Methodist Fellowship. Nelly also loved to knit and crochet. She is survived by her son, Willy G Evans, of Nova; brother, George Schmidt and sister, Leana. Nelly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry Evans and sister, Margaret Smith. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 8 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, Ohio 44851. A private burial will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
