Ernest R. Lance Sr., 77, of Wellington passed away at home on Tuesday, August 29, 2011, after a short illness. He was born on September 26, 1933 in Lodi to the late Clyde Lance and Carlotta Younkins and has lived in Wellington for the past 65 years. Ernest proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Panama from 1957 to 1959, following his active duty he spent 6 years in the Army Reserves. Ernest retired after 45 years from Elyria Foundry. Ernest is survived by his wife of 52 years, Audrey J. Lance. He is also survived by his children Ernest R. Lance Jr. of LaPorte, Michael L. Lance of Elyria , Michelle A. (Bruce)Johnson and Martin W. (Jill) Lance both of Columbus, also several grand and great grand children survive. In a final act of generosity Ernest chose to have his body donated to science. There will be no services held.
