Esther Adelaide Buczek, 93, of LaGrange, formerly of Elyria, Naples, FL, Wakeman and Kipton went to be with her Lord the evening of March 6, 2012 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange, her home of past 3.5 years. She was born April 17, 1919, daughter to the late James and Beulah (nee DeMoss) Richey.
She graduated from Kipton High School 1936. Addie/Esther cherished being with people, loved doing anything, golfing, bowling, roller skating & swimming in younger years. She was a skilled seamstress that was active with the Oberlin Senior Weavers for several years, serving her Lord through serving her family, friends and churches. She spent several years in Naples Florida until her husband John (USS Steel retiree) died. When she left to come home she was given two parties of over 100 in each by the "Widows Clubs" she had created and organized.
When Keystone Pointe opened she was first to "sign up" 3rd to arrive. She felt it was her job to welcome new arrivals and help them adjust. Her theory, "I'm coming here to live as best as I can for as long as I can." She served in the Residence Council at Keystone Pointe and as President when she was 90. She is survived by several friends at the home to carry on her tradition. She was grateful to all the staff there that took such good care of her and helped her live her last years to the best of her ability.
Esther is survived by her two children and their spouses, Dennis and Jaci Buczek of Raleigh, NC and Pennie and Charles Mekoleske of LaGrange; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Alene Kaderbek of Sheffield Lake; Lynn Lewis of Green and Bonnie Hanlin of Oberlin; special friend, Cliff Smith who made her feel so special her last 20 years and her "many friends". She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Dawn 'Charlie' Harrison; sister, Helen Delladonna and brother, Donald Richey.
